Start the year

Updated: Jan 19, 2021

Hitting 2021 with not as much free time as I thought I'd have and jumping straight into the deep end...

+ Last year I filmed as part of a mini series of Greek myths and adventures as told by Hannah Khalil , commissioned by Watermans Arts Centre . I You can see me puppeteering some cardboard theatre in Pandora and Midas alongside some other brilliant tales with Ian Nicholson over at the Watermans YouTube channel.

+ Rich Kids: A History of Shopping Malls in Tehran gets an international airing as part of Under the Radar Festival, Public Theater, New York, USA. It has also been selected for Sundance Festival 2021. We were reviewed in the New York Times and Exeunt US.

+ I'm thrilled to say my Develop Your Creative Practice application to Arts Council England was successful. I will be applying my puppetry skills to stop motion animation and exploring the overlaps and trying to learn new skills where the gaps are. I will be documenting my progress and failures through this blog.

+ I am one of the recipients of the MENA Arts UK film commission fund. I will be making a 1 minute film applying my not-yet-found skills in stop motion animation to celebrate commonality between the MENA arts community.

+ Feb-March will see the reassembly of the DUAL دوگانه team to redevelop and expand from the Vault Festival version of the show. As part of this I will be taking part as one of six artists in the Barbican Theatre Open Lab. Read more about it here:
